Carolyn Browne Tamler established Carolyn Browne Associates, a Seattle-based marketing research and public involvement firm, in 1977. She has extensive experience in community involvement programs, marketing research and marketing, facilitation, promotion and community education projects for a broad range of public agencies and private clients.
Carolyn has managed numerous community involvement programs and marketing research survey processes with a special focus on city planning, parks and recreation, public transit, environmental issues and public works projects. Her clients have included: the cities of Aberdeen, Auburn, Bellevue, Bothell, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, Kenmore, Lynnwood, Monroe, Redmond, Renton, Shoreline, Tacoma, Tukwila and Woodinville and public transit agencies in Washington, Illinois, Virginia, Minnesota and California.
Most recently, she managed a survey process for the South Whidbey School District and conducted focus group discussions for Whidbey Island Bank.
Prior to establishing her own business, Ms. Tamler managed the Marketing Research Departments for Metro Transit (now King County Metro) and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Since moving to Whidbey Island, Carolyn has used techniques from her community involvement to create an envisioning process that helps businesses and organizations define goals and what they need to do to accomplish those goals. She also has presented her Marketing 101 course to Chambers of Commerce on the Island and to several other groups and organizations, and has facilitated meetings and retreats.
Currently, she has weekly feature as the Business Spotlight on Whidbey Local and an on-line magazine column, the Whidbey island Life Examiner, that highlights businesses and entrepreneurs on Whidbey Island.
